Day 8 - Hell Fire Pass & The Death Railway - Kanchanaburi

Today we woke up in Kanchanaburi - home of the infamous 'Death Railway' and the Bridge over River Kwae (I didn't spell it wrong, actually the word "Kwai" is wrong!).

We drove to "Hell Fire Pass" which was part of the railway that was most difficult for the POWs to work on it. My group found this place very reflective and sad.

After the walk we came back to have a look in the museum which is very well-set up before heading to have lunch at Namtoke Station. Here is the end station of the Death Railway which is still in use today.

Then we caught a train to Tha Kilen for one hour on a beautiful scenery trip... Then we got back on the minibus again and drove to visit another museum and the war cemetery before hopping on the rickshaws to the Bridge over River Kwae.

Tonight it's our last night as some people in the group would like to leave the trip earlier because of the unrest situation in Bangkok - hopefully the situation improves very soon....
